The 2008/2009 Season will bring timeless musicals, delicious comedy and an eloquent drama to the Tucson Music Hall stage. It’s a season where you will see some of our country’s finest performers!

Ted Neeley has garnered world renown for his title role in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. To witness his powerful portrayal live onstage is to understand why he has the devotion of thousands of adoring fans. Chazz Palminteri is a consummate actor who has lit up the screen in dozens of films – seeing him in person is completely enthralling.We are grateful that Tucson is one of the select cities he will visit with his one man show A BRONX TALE. Speaking of consummate performers, the musicians of RAIN are going to astonish you when they perform songs that even The Beatles never attempted outside of the enhanced technical environment of a recording studio. Joe Sears and Jaston Williams, the exuberant comedians behind TUNA DOES VEGAS are not only two of the fastest quick-change artists you will ever see, their ability to bring to life such a wide cast of characters is – in a word – breathtaking.

ICONIC is the best word to fully describe the musicals we will present this season! MAMMA MIA!, GREASE and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR are contemporary classics that have been performed all over the world and continue to capture the hearts of critics and audiences wherever they play. And now all three can boast adaptations “on stage and screen.” The Oscar-nominated film adaptation of "Jesus Christ Superstar", starring Ted Neeley, was released in 1973. The film version of "Grease", starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, was originally released in 1978 and issued on DVD in 2002. "Mamma Mia!" hits the big screen this summer, starring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth, among others. Of course, there’s nothing better than the live, in-theatre experience of these great musicals (which is why we are bringing them to you in Tucson)…but it’s kind of fun to be able to see them on film too!

Folks from Phoenix interested in seeing the new GREASE fresh from Broadway will need to come here for a visit: Tucson is the only Arizona city you will be able to catch this joyous new production, plus we’re the only stop in the state for A BRONX TALE!

We are also are delighted to welcome back Linda Eder for a one-night-only holiday concert in December. This talented performer of Jekyll & Hyde fame has a thriving concert career and a dozen albums to her credit – I can’t think of a better way to get in the holiday spirit than a night of song with this consummate performer who possesses one of the greatest contemporary solo voices of our time.

Tickets for the individual shows will go on sale in early fall, but now is the best time to lock in your seats for the 2008/2009 season. Our family of season ticket holders continues to grow each year, so it’s really the only way to ensure you get the seat locations you want. And with our exchange policy, it’s easy and convenient to change to an alternate performance of the show if something else gets in the way.

Season ticket holders also save over regular ticket prices – up to 20% – and have a number of different packages to choose from. The best seats and the best savings are in the hands of those who purchase the full six-show season but there are other terrific options to choose from. I am also pleased to announce this year, for the first time, season ticket holders have the option of pre-purchasing their parking passes for the Tucson Convention Center parking lots. While your parking pass does not guarantee you a spot (arriving a little early is the best antidote to a full parking lot), having your parking passes in hand will be faster and more convenient than paying in cash when you arrive. The 2008/2009 season promises many memorable and exhilarating nights in the theater. I can’t imagine anything better than sharing it all with you as part of our season ticket holder family!

Only season ticket holders can pre-purchase parking vouchers, usable at any 2008/2009 Season Broadway in Tucson performance in any one of the Tucson Convention Center lots. It’s a lot quicker and more convenient than paying cash at the booth.
Please note: Having your pre-paid parking passes does not guarantee your spot in the parking lots – the TCC has many events in its various facilities throughout the year. That being said, many season ticket holders report that they never have trouble parking when they arrive at the theater at least a half hour prior to the show.
